How it works
Who completes what?
The mandate, in plain words
| A. Marketing | You authorize me to obtain, analyze and present quotes from insurers and authorized administrators. The mandate ends 12 months after signature unless renewed. |

| B. Agent of record | You appoint me agent of record for your existing contract, replacing any previous representative. The appointment remains in effect until revoked in writing. Some insurers require the letter on company letterhead. |
| What the mandate does not do | It neither changes nor cancels your contract in force. No decision is made without your written approval. |
| Compensation | I am generally paid a commission by the insurer or administrator selected, included in the premium or fees. Details are provided on request, before any decision. |
VRSP: is your business covered?
According to Retraite Québec, an employer must set up a VRSP by December 31 of a year if it had at least 10 designated employees on June 30 of that year and at least 5 designated employees on December 31 of the previous year. An RRSP or TFSA with payroll deduction, or a registered pension plan, can take its place. The employer is not required to contribute.

Does the mandate require me to change insurers?
No. It allows me to obtain and analyze quotes. You remain free to accept or refuse any proposal, and your current contract stays in force.
Will my current insurer be informed?
With option B (agent of record), yes: the letter is sent to it so I can represent you with it. With option A, only the insurers solicited receive the information needed for their quote.
Why an employee list?
Insurers price the plan based on each employee’s age, sex, salary and chosen coverage. Do not include full names or social insurance numbers.
How much does it cost?
No fee is charged to the company without a separate written agreement. I am generally paid a commission by the insurer selected and disclose the details on request.
How do I revoke the mandate?
By written notice to the representative and, for option B, to the insurer. The marketing mandate ends on its own after 12 months.
