As an independent representative, I am not bound to any insurer by an exclusivity agreement. I work through Groupe Cloutier, managing general agent, which lets me compare contracts from several insurers rather than present the catalogue of a single company.
My method does not change: diagnostic, analysis, recommendation, follow-up. No recommendation before a full analysis of your situation. I am paid by commission from the insurer selected — the usual method in the profession, and you may question me about it at any time.
Two areas fall outside my licences. Property and casualty insurance — auto, home, business — which I refer to Lussier, a firm licensed in that discipline. And mutual fund dealing: mutual funds and individual securities. Not to be confused with group insurance and group annuities, which I do hold — my investment offer runs through segregated funds, which are insurance contracts.
